School is almost back in session, which means it’s time for carpools and school pickups. As you get closer to that first day, it’s important to make sure your car is up for the extra driving it will be doing during the school year. Here are some back-to-school car care tips to help you prepare for the carpool line.
Get your tires checked. Maintaining the recommended amount of tire pressure is an important part of vehicle maintenance. Make sure your pressure is perfect before you head out on the road so you can have the best control of your vehicle as possible and the best fuel efficiency, too. Also, check each tire’s tread to ensure they are not balding.
Check your visibility. Windshield wipers and headlights should be checked before you head out for carpool. Make sure you have plenty of wiper fluid to keep your windshield clean, providing you with the best visibility possible. Also, check your headlights for dimming and your wiper blades for excessive wear.
Utilize your backup camera. Getting around a school parking lot can be difficult and hazardous. While backup cameras aren’t fail-proof, they can go a long way towards helping you see smaller children behind your vehicle. If you don’t have a backup camera, consider getting an aftermarket one installed so you can feel more confident behind the wheel.
