Despite heavy competition from segment mainstays like the 2019 Ford F-150 and the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 (just redesigned), it was the superior 2019 Ram 1500 that came away with TRUCK TREND’s 2019 Pickup Truck of the Year award a couple months back.
Several jurors, who are certified truck experts from all across America, tested new pickup trucks during a grueling, week-long process over 1,300 miles. In total, eight trucks were considered, but the 2019 Ram 1500 was the clear winner because of its performance in towing and hauling, its incredible fuel economy, and its superior off-roading.
“It is clear to us that Ram is not only serious about being a competitor in the full-size truck market with the all-new 2019 1500, but that they intend to lead,” remarked Sean Holman, Group Content Director for TRUCK TREND. “The new truck breaks ground in many areas and is the gold standard of what to expect in regard to comfort and technology without giving up any of the functionality or utility of a truck.”
The new Ram 1500 is a segment leader in many regards. Its new eTorque mild hybrid system and reduced weight ensure superior fuel economy, and its strong frame allows for 12,750 pounds of towing capability.
