If you’re looking for a truly American car, then set your gaze on the 2019 Jeep® Cherokee. This SUV was recently named the Cars.com Most American Vehicle on the website’s American-Made Index.
“The Jeep® Cherokee tops Cars.com’s American-Made Index for the second year in a row, taking the number one position, thanks to high scores across the five major factors analyzed in the index,” said Kelsey Mays, senior consumer affairs editor, Cars.com.
To establish the ranking in Cars.com’s AMI, the website evaluated the economic influence of a vehicle based on its: domestic-parts content (set by the American Automobile Labeling Act), where the vehicle is assembled, the automaker’s factory jobs and the sources of the engine and transmission.
The Cherokee came out on top in all these categories.
For the 2019 model year, the Cherokee offers a more premium design than ever before, along with a new advanced 2.0-liter direct-injection inline four-cylinder engine, which provides an EPA-estimated fuel-efficiency rating of up to 31 mpg on the highway and 22 mpg in the city.* It has an all-new front fascia, hood, LED headlamps, daytime running lights and fog lamps. This SUV even comes with a new light-weight, hands-free power liftgate.
The Jeep® Belvidere Assembly Plant in Belvidere, Illinois, manufactures the Cherokee. With more than two million sales each year, the Cherokee competes in the largest SUV segment in the country.
