The all-new 2013 Dodge Dart just keeps getting better and better. The revolutionary compact sedan has been named a 2012 Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
The Dart received the maximum possible rating in each of the four crash tests that the IIHS uses to evaluate occupant protection. It achieved a top score of “good” in tests that simulate rollover, rear-, side-, and moderate-overlap frontal-impacts.
Top Safety Pick is the highest safety award granted by the IIHS. The 2013 Dart is a class-leader in total safety and security features; it has over 60. All Dodge Darts come equipped with ten standard-equipment, advanced design air bags and accident-avoidance technologies, such as electronic stability control, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-path detection.
The Dart joins 11 other Chrysler Group vehicles that received a 2012 IIHS Top Safety Pick Award: the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango, Dodge Journey, Jeep Patriot, Dodge Grand Caravan, Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Charger, Chrysler 300, Dodge Avenger, Chrysler 200, and Fiat 500.
