FCA and Star Wars are joining forces to launch “an expansive, historic promotional campaign” for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the latest installment of the wildly popular Star Wars franchise. FCA, known for partnering with a variety of stars, movie studios, and musicians, will be one of seven global companies to join in the ground-breaking marketing effort.
“The ‘Star Wars’ brand has endured over the years, across generational audiences because it connects with people in a very special way,” Lynwen Brennan, Lucasfilm general manager, said in a statement. “Our partners have all delivered original, stand-out campaigns that capture the familiar fun and excitement of our galaxy far, far away that we hope will delight fans as they get ready to experience ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens.’”
Chief Marketing Officer Olivier Francois is known for his marketing philosophy which is focused on three pillars: “Brand over the product,” “Be unique and unexpected,” and “Make an unforgettable connection.” These pillars have been the basis for the company’s role in nine movies and involvement with a long list of other companies, actors, and musicians since Francois took over FCA’s head of marketing.
