Uconnect Access Wins Technology of the Year

Last week we told you about Chrysler Group’s Uconnect’s upcoming dealer-activated navigation. Now we’re pleased to announce that Uconnect Access is the winner of the AOL Autos’ Technology of the Year award.

Uconnect Access beat out five other finalists to win the new award, which was determined by a panel of auto editors and nearly 20,000 online voters. It captured both the experts’ votes and popular vote to bring home the award.

A major factor in the overwhelming popularity of Uconnect Access is its hallmark user-friendliness. The infotainment system effortlessly blends touchscreen capability with mechanical controls, making it easy for customers to decide the best way for them to connect with the technology. Critics are raving about Uconnect Access.

It was also recently announced that the popular internet-based iHeart Radio will be arriving on select future 2014 Chrysler models in the form of iHeart Radio for Auto. Users can connect their compatible Apple or Android smartphones with the Uconnect Access App and then control their iHeart Radio listening experience directly through the dashboard’s touchscreen.

With iHeart Radio for Auto, drivers will have access to over 1,500 live radio stations and will be able to create custom stations inspired by their favorite songs and artists. Uconnect Access is available exclusively on the 2013 Ram 1500 and SRT Viper.
