Microsoft and Chrysler Collaborate on Updated Infotainment System

Drivers of Chrysler vehicles who have opted for the higher trim levels are already familiar with Chrysler’s Uconnect infotainment system, which runs on QNX software. This system, already available in vehicles offered at Shuman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, has been lauded by critics and drivers worldwide for its high level of sophistication, its wide array of features, and its ease of use.

Lower trim levels, by sheer definition, have not featured the luxurious infotainment technology offered via Uconnect—not until now, that is. Chrysler has just announced that it has teamed up with Microsoft to create a Uconnect infotainment system based off the one currently used in Fiat vehicles. The infotainment system, called Uconnect 5.0, will be available in base trims and will feature a five-inch touchscreen, support for multiple devices, and the ability to install apps and services.

Want to get your hands on this new system? You’ll get your first chance when the lower trims of the 2013 Ram 1500 arrive here at Shuman this summer!
