When you’re shopping for a new car, besides price, safety is likely your top priority, especially if you’re going to be driving around your family. Well just last month the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS) awarded the 2014 Chrysler 200, Dodge Dart and Dodge Avenger each with a rating of Top Safety Pick.
In order to receive such a score, these vehicles had to score a rating of “good” or higher on four key crash tests (whip lash, side impact, roof strength, and moderate-overlap frontal crash). Since the Dart has been released, it has received the Top Safety Pick rating, and also received a 5-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The Chrysler 200 and the Dodge Avenger have both been accredited by the IIHS for the sixth time.
All of these Chrysler Group sedans are equipped with advanced-technology steel and the Avenger and 200 come standard with all the available safety features offered. The Dart contains the class-leading number of airbags and safety features, too.
