FCA and Star Wars Team Up for “Historic” Advertising Campaign

FCA and Star Wars are joining forces to launch “an expansive, historic promotional campaign” for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the latest installment of the wildly popular Star Wars franchise. FCA, known for partnering with a variety of stars, movie studios, and musicians, will be one of seven global companies to join in the ground-breaking marketing effort.

“The ‘Star Wars’ brand has endured over the years, across generational audiences because it connects with people in a very special way,” Lynwen Brennan, Lucasfilm general manager, said in a statement. “Our partners have all delivered original, stand-out campaigns that capture the familiar fun and excitement of our galaxy far, far away that we hope will delight fans as they get ready to experience ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens.’”

Chief Marketing Officer Olivier Francois is known for his marketing philosophy which is focused on three pillars: “Brand over the product,” “Be unique and unexpected,” and “Make an unforgettable connection.” These pillars have been the basis for the company’s role in nine movies and involvement with a long list of other companies, actors, and musicians since Francois took over FCA’s head of marketing.

So far, FCA isn’t releasing any details about the partnership or which brand(s) will be involved. Here at Shuman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we’ll be patiently waiting for more information. In the meantime, here is the official teaser for The Force Awakens. Enjoy!
